According to the Population Reference Bureau's "Aging in the United States" report, the number of Americans age 65 and older is projected to double by 2060. As the demand increases, we also see that the way these communities are developed and designed has changed to create a path for support, community interaction, health, wellness, as well as a place to give independence that is needed to flourish yet have a maintenance free lifestyle.
There are three major parts to designing/developing a truly engaging Senior Community:
1) Creating Connections in the Community by inspiring those engaged with the community to feel enriched, motivated, and stimulated by the space, the people and the activities surrounding them.
2) Creating a Community that fosters well being is key to making a community thrive. When residents feel robust, relaxed, can nourish their bodies and minds, it pays off with the exponential benefits to their health and vitality.
3) Creating a Sense of Security and Safety is the final piece. When Senior Living communities remove the fear and stress from living and caring for yourself, the residents feel at peace. Taking away the stress of meal prep, home security, and countless other triggers, leaves them happy, healthy and more productive.
